Idle/Mileage Problem on a 92 AT Civic LX
hello,
I have 2 problems with my recently bought an automatic 92 Civic LX.

1st Problem..
the idle on a good day is at the 500 mark when in drive.
recently it has been idling close to 1200 in park and between 900-1000 in drive. if left alone the idle will drop to 600 and then shoot up to 1400 and then back down. it is also spitting out oil while doing that.
it mostly it idles at the 'good day' rpm but then after a half hour of driving and an engine shut off, upon restart it does the bad idling. it will continue that unless the engine is cold...even then it might do the bad idle again.

Problem 2 is probably related in part with problem 1
mileage for the 92 LX Civic is suppost to be 35 city and 40 highway.
My Mileage is about 24 city and 30 highway.
The car was a rental car for its previous owner and was not keep well but it does run fine minus those 2 problems.
