idle issues eg hatch
Hey HT, having a few problems with idle. car is a 1992 civic vx. with a d15b7
So the issue is when warmed up the idle will fluctuate. basically go up and down. it has a difrence of about 300-400 rpms. I.E. if the car is at idle around 800 rpms the car will go up to 1100 to 1200 rpms and go up down up down. now the cabin harness is the VX, and and all the plugs coming out of the firewall are vx
i am using the dx engine harness. the motor its self is fine. only 15k on rebuild
anyone have any suggestions. this is just for California smog. they failed me due to the odd idle.
i have change the IACV and cleaned it. the vacuum hoses seem sealed.
also could be related but seems like another problem: sometime when i turn the car off after driving it doesnt want to start. it sounds like the fuel is not priming at those times. is that the pump or could it be the main fuel relay? thanks

Re: idle issues eg hatch
My d15 engine did the samething and I jut changed the idle valve and it fixed the problem right away. When I put the idle valve which was used I did not clean it out because it did not look beat up and it worked out perfect

it seems to me like a small vacuum leak. Check your Throttle body gasket. If it is not the correct one or is torn or worn out it can cause this, it also wouldn't hurt to take your intake manifold off and throttle body and thoroughly clean them out with some carb spray. This helped me when i was having this problem. Good Luck.
