yes, on some motors. the b16 IAC's are totally diff. from most honda IAC's. i know type R IAC's and d16z6 IAC's interchange because i have swapped them between the too. i believe the b16 is just the odd one out that wont swap around. the gsr's look the same but i have never actually tried swapping them out between the d series.

Yes, some IACV do work on either SOHC & DOHC. I have a SOHC IAC on my B20B VTEC setup and it works perfectly fine.

i dont think the iac could possibly have taht effect... sounds like bad timing, mixed tps/map plugs, or bad ecu to me

well i kept swappin the tps map plugs to see if that would be it and wouldnt run the other way, so it at least runs and idles now, its throwin me a map code, but i replaced the map sensor... **** maybe its the ecu...

my iac broke about a year ago, i stuck a bolt in the hose to seal it off.. idles fine unless its a hot day and im stuck in traffic.. it idles at like 1 rpm.. new valve was 270 some dollars, ill stick with my bolt.. wont rev past 2k is def timing or computer, let the car idle till it gets to normal temp then check timing with an iduction light.
