first buy a manifold then choose, cheapest manifold is an hx with the cat unbolted with an adapter plate, most run mitsubishi 2nd gen t25's or 1st gen t25 flanged tdo4h turbos becuase tha avalibilty of the turbos in junkyards, they came in well alot of dsm's haha (plymouth, mitsu, eagle)

I'd swap to 5spd manual 1st, read up on what turboing is, and how to do it well before you worry about that.

auto turbos are somewhat quicker than manual if the driver cant drive stick well lol(most drag racers in the 5 second quater mile actually run trans braked autos, but thats COMPLETELY diffrent your ato s set for fuel ecomnoy and weighs a bitch more than the stick ) , i think there was a guy on here with a 95 civic turbo auto he made for his wife, idk how accurate the auto trans is crap for power statement is but manual is wayyyyyy more fun to drive

mucho reading/ researching and over and over and over is involved. ive been reading up on this for more than a year now and at the end of my junior year(high school) over the summer it is finnaly going to happen, and when it does happen there will be a romance explosion everywhere(beginning to mid june sometime, all done pieceing together my kit finnaly).

but considering your trying to get into the turbo D scene. i do have a d16manifold(bit of rust on it, adapter plate(rough shape), and a dsm td04(near mint condition). that i am selling, if interested pm me.
