i need some information .. PLEASE HELP
I have a guy wanting to sell me a B18A1 motor. It has everything to put it together. It has been re-machined and acid bathed. it doesn't have Connecter Rods, Transmission, ECU, or wire harness for $500.. Do yall think i should get it ?
Oh and Im planning on putting it in a 1998 Honda Civic Lx 4Dr.

you can pick up LS swaps complete for $1000-$1500.once you buy a tranny,ECU and all the other needed parts to swap it and get the engine back together,i'm pretty sure you'll have more than that in it.i'd be very hesitant to buy an engine that's been apart like that.you have no idea of why it was done in the first place, and of the quality of the work.

You make a real good point on that.. I really don't know why they took it apart or the quality of the work... Chris .. when you say "LS swaps complete for $1000-$1500" Are you talking about motor, tranny,ECU, and Wire Harness??
Thanks for your feedback man

around here they go for that much for the complete swap:engine, tranny,ECU,harness, shift linkage and axles.

I wish they went for that much around here. At Sonic Boom Motorsports for a LS VTEC motor swap would prolly run about $3000-$5000

that makes sense for a swap that requires machine work and various replacement parts and labor(if done right).i'm talking about a totally stock, never opened up LS swap.stock GSR swaps usually do bring around $3000 complete.
if that shop wants that much for an LS swap,go somewhere else!
