Default i need honda-tech PROFESSIONALS asap

i have a 96 civic coupe ex with a jdm 95 delsol b16 motor that is obd1. i used a 96 ex wire harness and a obd2 to obd1 jumper harness that connects to a obd1 p30 ecu (jdm).

and now my car is due for an inspection next month and their is no way my car will pass inspection... so i was wondering wat will i need to convert it to obd2? will i only just need a p2t( i belive its a 99-00si ecu) ecu and a obd2a to obd2b jumper??
so wat i think i need
1 p2t ecu
2 2nd o2 sensor for highflow cat
3 obd2a to obd2b
4 rewire the cpk or w.e sensor is on the oil pump...

anything else?? maybe im completely wrong???
or will i need to do more? thank you...i will greatly appreciate the help..thanks

it phailed already
you can't put a motor into a car younger then it
ex. you can't a b18c5 into like an ep3 or something

Thats such a load of Horse Sh*t

The thing is, Nj is one of the easiest states to have swaps, Any swap. As long as your not throwin any codes. BUT.

When it comes to a OBDI motor in an OBDII car, It gets tricky. I know the scan port wont read an OBDI ECU with the jumper harness.

what a good question is, Will the Scan Tool work with a OBDIIa to OBDIIb Jumper? I dont know.

You could try a Integra GSR ECU for inspection, Might throw codes for Lean/rich cause the fuel maps are different but its worth a chance.

Also you dont want to just plug in a new ECU and go to inspection, Theres a drive cycle that has to be done before the ECU can be read.

Id look for an OBDII Dist.

Its a JDM engine, OBD1 at that in an OBD2 car. There will be missing emissions sensors you will need to add. You will have to preform the CKF fix. and you will need a USDM ECU so a scan tool can communicate with it (96 - '97 Del Sol P30 will work nicely in the case and not require a jumper harness btw)

so now..i just need to do the cpk fix...get a usdm p30 obd2... and a high flow cat and 2nd o2 sensor??? anything else??

Oh my god please ignore the entire post that mentioned changing the distributor.

Here's what you'll need to do:

1. Find an OBD2A ECU

This could be a rare-*** 96-97 Del Sol VTEC ECU, or 97-98 USDM ITR ECU, or the more common 96-98 Integra GS-R ECU. this is better than trying to run a jumper harness and 99-00 Si ECU as long as you can find an OBD2A ECU.

2. Do the CKF wiring trick at the ECU:

Follow OBD2A directions

3. Find a way to get the ECU to read a secondary oxygen sensor

You can do it the 100% legit way and add a catalytic convertor (if you lack one) and install a secondary oxygen sensor

or

Some people have had sucess by running an o2 sensor emulator, or even welding a bung on the side of the exhaust piping and basically having the 2nd o2 sensor up against the piping so it gets the heat it needs, but is open to free air - a co-worker of mine used this method on his 98 Civic Hb with built GS-R swap - passes every year

4. Drive the car and see if any check engine codes come up, then attack each problem until you can drive the car for about two days with no codes coming up

This will get you past the OBD2 scan test.

From there I don't know how NJ operates. In GA all we have to do is not throw codes and pass the OBD2 scan tool test. Usually people have a swap in an OBD2 car and they either run it OBD1 with a jumper harness for 360 days of the year, then swap in an OBD2 ECU for a few days (long enough for the ECu to pass readiness phase) and get it scanned, then go back to the OBD1 ECU/jumper combo.

If by clipboard you mean my memory then yes.

Often when I reply to topic with this info I cannot find it quickly enough, or I don't remember the title to the topic, etc. so I just retype it all.

you should save it in a wordpad file or something. it seems to be the same few questions around here day after day, year after year.

mini me, x motor into y car, obd2-1, repeat
