I Need Help!
my distributor is fully advanced and my crank pulley is at zero. Is this good? But i want my distributor to be at stock position. What mark is stock 14 16 or 18? i tried it at 18 but the car ran ugly with no power.so that confused me. the previous owner said the timing is set high but i never checked until a guy did the tb and wtr pmp.

Re: I Need Help! (Luserkid)
thanks dude.i tried 16 the other day but the belt wouldn't get on. but when it went on everything the cams weren't lined up. the only way everything was correct was at zero. could it be the cam pulleys?

wow wow wow.... are you doing timing with a gun or are you putting on a timing belt? If your putting on the timing belt you have to start at 0 (TDC). If your doing with a gun then do what i did.

Re: I Need Help! (Luserkid)
im trying to get my distributor and crank to be at the stock position. when i tried to put the crank at 16 with everything at TDC the timing belt would not go on. it would only go on when the cam gears are not at TDC. i was also wondering, is my oil line on the block supposed to be lined up at the 0 degree mark or 16degrees?

So your trying to put on a timing belt and its not going on, thats because your doing it wrong. Do it like this:
Take out spark plugs.
loosen tensioner
set cams to TDC (arrow up, lines straight across head)
set crank to TDC (white line looks up to the timing belt cover mark)
Pull on belt and put over Intake cam
then exhaust cam
tighten tensioner just a little
rotate 90* counter clockwise to get the belt tight
tightne tensioner all the way down.
Rotate a couple times to make sure its all TDC.
Easy

Re: I Need Help! (Luserkid)
thanks the crank is at zero with everything aligned. now i got to put the distributor at stock position. do i have to jump the connector and turn the distributor while the car is on or can i do it with the car off w/'o jumping the connector?

Re: I Need Help! (Luserkid)
i guess. its the white zero degree mark all by its self. the distributor is advanced all the way. and it is running good only when cold like early in the mornings. i have msd wires, blaster coil, cap, and the box.
