I need help.
have a 97 dx hatch. left work the other day to go to lunch and the check engine light came on. drove it back to work and when i got off the car wouldn't start. My headlights worked, and accessory lights worked. so didn't think it was the battery. but i got jumped and it started. i had to make a 30min. drive home and right when i pulled into my apts. the car shut off and wouldn't start again. when it turned off all the accessory lights came on, and the wheels locked up. loud clicking noise coming from down by the ecu when i try to start it. when i was driving it home the car had no idle at stop light. thought it was about to die. can anyone help me.

No, it will work for OBD2 cars as well. Plug is in the same location and everything.

The starter is located on the topside of the tranny, kind of towards the back. But I don't know why the ECU would be clicking. Maybe since those 2 areas are remotely close together, you're just hearing it for that general area.

Make sure your battery connections are tight. If they are loose, it'll cause the clicking noise that sounds like the starter by your ECU. If you take notice, the starter will also click too. Also make sure that there is absolutey no residue from weather or whatever. It has to be a clean connection.
