Default Does anyone know what they're talking about???!!!!

Ok sorry about the topic, but I can't get any help. My car keeps getting a CEL. I turn the car off and then turn it on and there is no light but when I start it up and drive it the light comes on. I tried to hook up the test connector while it running, because someone on here told me to but it doesn't do anything. Can anyone help me?

No, you jump the connector and put the key in ACC, DO NOT START THE CAR.

The CEL will blink a few times.

Short blink = 1
Long blink = 10

Add them up. And watch for multiple codes. It'll repeat itself once it gives all the codes out.

Well, it could be a lot of things. If you want to know WHY you are getting a CEL, you need to figure out what code it's throwing. Do a search. There are dozens of threads on ANY Honda board showing you how to do this.

Short of that, I can tell you, from experience, that 99% of CEL's are caused by the oxygen sensors, so that's always good place to start checking for problems...

It's funny you asked this question.

About 2 months ago the same thing happend to me.

My CEL would only come on when I was driving.

Come to find out, I had forgot to wire up the knock sensor after the swap

Wired it up and all was good.

I don't think I have a knock sensor. I did a swap but mine was just a d16z6. Every thing worked fine before, but it just started doing this.

Thanks

Correct! The D16Z6 doesn't have a knock sensor. That's one of the nice things about it...
