OK when i bought a 97 Civic LX the car they guy told me he had it stolen from him.. he told me most of the vin numbers were missing but there were a few in tact.... I cannot find them.... here are the locations i checked:

Firewall: Most of the numbers are there except 3 of them everything else matches
Doors: Scratched off
Trunk: Scratched off
Hood: Scratched off
Tranny: peeled off (if it is where i thought it was)

any ideas?

I know on some of the plastic paneling and maybe fenders, sometimes there is a sticker that on the inside of them with the VIN#. My 97 Integ' had that everywhere on the car.

the dash one is gone too

look through the front winshield at the dash u should see it. if that is missing consult your title.

I have a title....it has a vin... it cant match that vin up to the car.... honmda said theres a plate on the block... next to the starter... do you know where the starter is?

thats the one on the front of the transmission.

by the "hood" vin did you mean the side of the engine bay?

on my civic there are stickers with the vin on them (worst idea ever) so... the stickers are removed from the following places:

Hood (under near the catalyst sticker)
Transmission
All 4 doors
Trunk lid
Rear Bumper
both fenders

Vin PLATE:

missing from window...
