I need brakes...but what kind?
I need to replace me brakes and rotors on my stock 97 Civic. First, should I go with semis or ceramic, or "organic"( and just what is organic?)?
And second, is there a particular brand that I should consider (or NOT consider)? I am not looking to get anything mail order...dont want to wait for its arrival or pay for shipping... just looking at what the local parts stores carry.
Any thoughts?...thanx....

when i did my brakes, i just got Brembo OEM disc replacements with AEM pads, and they work awsome simple upgrade without breaking the bank, at a whopping $140 total for everything, and installed it all myself.
Got it all off of Horsepowerfreaks.com

I just had my rotors turned at O'Reilly's Auto Parts and got Ceramix pads at NAPA
Any rotors from local part stores are really cheap, you definitely get what you pay for.
My NAPA Ceramix pads cost $60. They have a lifetime warranty: they said even wwhen they wear down due to normal wear and tear, they will replace them . Im definitely keeping the receipt for that
