I know its not Tech Related but I have to vent
It was raining here last night so I'm on my way to my part time job and Traffic is crawling. The pickup in front of me goes from slowing down to a complete stop in a split second (he hit someone). I couldn't swerve because there was a car beside me so I figured what the hell, we are only doing 20-25 mph, worst case scenario it just tear up the front bumper a little bit (Which I was going to get the front end replaced anyway), no harm no foul.
Well since I'm a dumbass (And this happened so quick) I didn't think about the fact that I'm lowered and the F150 is a little higher then my bumper....so you guessed it, I slide underneath his bumper. My hood is crumpled, and were the hood meets the actual car is crumpled as well. Fenders are fine, I can turn the streeting wheel from side to side without a problem. Bumper of course is tore up. Radiator and radiator support is finished as well.
I hope my insurance company doesn't write the car off. I'm almost done paying for it. Not to mention I'm staring @ some Tein's (Ryan I got the m form a friend on a barter and trade deal), Wilwood brakes, Carbon Fiber hood (On the way), SIR EG6 Gauge cluster (on the way, not trying to be a JDM *** but 100 dollars for a cluster as opposed to 200 dollars for a speedo because mine isn't working is a little more cost efficient wouldn't you say), Duckbill and lip on the way, LCA's on the way, and an ITR sway bar on the way. Can you say I have a pile of **** for my car (Lets not count the numerous turbo parts I have sitting in a box).
If they write it off I'm stealing my car back to get my motor. I paid too much money to let it go. *sigh*
I guess I'll know more when I get in touch with the local office handling my claim and the body I'm going to use to get my work done.

Not like I had much of a choice. Either hit an innocent bystander and get a ticket for improper lane change or take the hit and get a ticket for following too closely (Even though the police understood I was wasn't and it was the weather and the chain reaction of accidents.

sorry to hear that. good luck man
on not jerking the wheel into the other lane. most people wouldnt even have thought before swerving. you made the right choice man, if you would have jerked the wheel you damage might not have been as bad, but another car would have been damaged too.

That's what I was thinking. It wasn't like the accident happened all that fast anyway.
Tom I was driving a Honda Civic I think.

If its considered a total loss then I'm going to look into getting my motor and the rest of my suspension pieces withoyt buying the car back. Sux because I'm almost done paying the car off.

Might not be tech but at least it is Civic related, and while we're talking collision let's add the tech in with some prices and estimates for the damages, eh?
The front bumper cover front Certi-Fit will be like $35.00. The hood is like $54.00 too.
Get a GS-R radiator if you dropped your A/C, or get the Del Sol VTEC dual core one from Fast Radiators in Riverdale for like $100.00 with a lifetime warranty.
Tech rules.

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear that bro. Try to get your motor back if anything, I know I would, specially what you have in that baby. Good luck, hope everything turns out fine. Similar thing happened to me with my first car, had to replace my hood, radiator support, bumper, and a bunch of other misc. things. Sux big time.

Dumb question - if you already have the hood on the way and know there is a possibilty of them totalling it out, why even report it to insurance? Just fix it yourself on the cheap, I dont see the bill coming close to $1k in even the worst case..

Re: I know its not Tech Related but I have to vent (ceas)
I'll probably have some pics this weekend. I'm not near the car and I have a part time job I'm trainign for after my day job.
Ceas I didn't pic it up from Nopi yet (The hood). Juan is holding on to it for me because I was going to pick it up this weekend.
I had a GSR radiator in there before. I might get a Del Sol Dual Core since I'm going turbo anyway. Tom I'll need the store info from you if its salvagable 100 bux for a radiator and life time warranty is a lot more tempting then a Fluidyne or Koyo (Or C&R).
Right now I now the front needs to be straightened out, hood needs to be replaced, radiator and radiator support replaced. Bumper support might be salvageable. I'm no body man. My insurance company should going out the today to look @ it. I'll keep you guys posted.
