In the spirit of winter, here's another sad ice/curb story...
My Civic is lowered 2.25", and I've corrected the camber to -1 rear, -1.5 front. The beltway is a wild ride during icey Ohio winters, and as I went to change lanes, I got into a slide. I got out of that one (and kept it off the retaining wall) but I got myself into a reverse slide that had me on a course for the curb. I asked myself what Luke Duke would do. I soiled myself, jumped the curb at about 45, and tore apart the undercarriage. The kore support and radiator have been replaced. I have a new front fascia. I got a new exhaust out of the deal as well. What's making me hate life right now is that when the weather is wet or snowy now, the tail end of my Civic drifts ever so slightly left and right. What do you guys think? Bent stub-axle maybe or control arm issue? I'm looking to do a Teg rear disc conversion anyway. Thanks for the insights.

Well doing the conversion wont change anything - you need to correct it first. Could possibly have every so slightly frame damage, like if you hit the curb at just a sligh angle. Its hard to say, have you checked your alignment (as well as thrust alignment etc) that will definately change with an accident like that!

Thanks very much for the welcome and the advice. It's been completely aligned. I guess now would be a good time to check for any further frame damage. The boys at my local bodyshop said something to the effect of "We had to tug out the frame a little...". Maybe they didn't tug enough. Thanks again.

Also check the thread on your tires if you haven't replaced them. Bald tires tend to make the car swerve a little from the rear.

Well this puts my 20 mph curb story into perspective...i hope it all works out for you man (im still waiting on my wheel....damn them.) I posted a similar story 2 weeks ago...

Yeah, I had read your story. Yours put mine into perspective a lot. I almost cried when you were talking about the damage to your Rotas. I had the little steel guys on thankfully.
