Default I JUST FAILED B.A.R.! :(

First off i went to the one in Monteray Park, the guy that works there, Roc. Is really cool, unless if you have a ticket then his a major ***** he says. But anyway i recommend Monteray Park, if you need to take B.A.R. Also if you fail visual there theyll let you retake and not count this as a try.

Ok anyway these are my scores. Roc said that i failed because the car was cold (got there about a hour early so the car was seating on me). Does anyone know if i need anything to pass with these scores?

15mph Test

HC (PPM): max: 89 mine: 179
CO(%): max: .53 mine: .71
NO(PPM): max: 708 mine: 1545

25mph Test

HC (PPM): max: 54 mine: 54
CO (%) : max: .51 mine: .04
NO(PPM): max 746 mine: 38

Could it be that i failed cause the car wasnt warmed up or was it more then that? Im going to shedule a retest and go to a Presmog before hand. Any other ideas? Thanks.

**EDIT**
I passed BAR! I was going to make another thread about passing but i dont have pics yet.

How long did you drive the car before you took it to get tested? If you drive it for like 20-30 minutes before you take it over and hopefully get right in, you should pass. Give the cat time to heat up so it can properly do its job.

daaaaaaaaaaaaayum hahaah
its prolly the cold in the slower mph, because maybe by the tim eit got to the 25 mph test, the engine was prolly getting warm. before you take it next time, put some of those additives i guess i dunno. try some stuff, im sure people on here have some ideas for you. but those numbers are INSANE hahaha good luck

ps: make sure engine is warm next time

Ok hour drive before i get there. What i did this morning was start the car, drive there (15-20 min drive), car sat for a hour, test. I think thats where i went wrong. But with those numbers nothing else is wrong with the car right? The Timing is at 16 and visual passed.

You failed big time on HC and NO at 15mph. I can say with 99% confidence you would still have failed even if you drove the car for an hour then hopped on the machine.

You would need at least a fresh cat and some tuning to pass.

Don't know how tru this is but I replaced my plugs and wires a few days prior and my car passed. Funny thing was I was almost sur I wouldn't pass because my timing was off(and couldn't get it to specs), ols cat and what ever else might have been bad.(95 civic with 230,000 miles). The tech came back and tolds me I passed with pretty decent #'s(good actually) but said I would have failed if I didnt change my gas cap which he hooked up for me to save the fail. I didn't even drive to car to keep it warm. So try that also and see what happens.

I was going to make a new thread when i get pics of my car and the BAR Sticker! I passed my test! for me What i did was drive my car for a hour in the 5krpm range to make sure that cat was hot as hell. Made props to O G B U N M A N G O (i probably spelled that wrong cause i always do) and Importboi22 for hooking me up with a CAI and a USDM Ecu. Actually to tell you the truth the ref didnt even look at the ecu. The dude at Monteray Park was really chill just as long as your not a ***. Although his a cocky fool with his 69 Firebird, and the lisence plat cover reads "Honda eater, wheres my lunch. But his a cool dude.

Burn that cat. up, and change your oil. And you should be fine. And make sure your timing is set right.

what happens when you fail? is your car supposed to be restricted from the road until it does pass?

I dont understand this at all, and i have to go through some kind of inspection to get rid of a salvaged title. So you have to drive your car to some place (illegally) to get it inspected so they can say it's okay to drive? Where's the sense in that?

That's awesome you passed it though, but for someone to get rid of salvage title, what is involved?

i think you have to get a brake and light inspection...go to CHP and have them inspect it and DMV and also have them inspect it thats how it is here in california

and for passing BAR
