I ordered this from HMO

My question is, is there any special functions for the rocker arms. I read that under 3k rpm there is only one valve opening per cylinder on the intake side. Then after 3k all 16 are opening. I also read there was a egr and a vtec soliniod looking thing. All of which HMO says not true. I just want to get confermation so I can get it tuned right.also if you've had this engine. What did you think of it

All it is, is a basic non vtec engine,no special rocker arm functions or anything like that.

there's nothing special about it, it is pretty much a civic dx engine with a different intake manifold.

you paid a lot of money for a motor people are pretty much throwing away. you can get a d16y7 for well under $500 at any local junkyard.

Ya I did pay to much but I wanted a engine tht was going to be a GOOD used engine. Also the d16a's have a somewhat more aggressive cam witch gives it the 118 that it's rated at. Also if it's a slug then I'll throw the y8 head I have on it and get a Lil more pep in its step

Turns out the intake is bigger all around but has iac on tb and no hole for it on the back.engine drives real smooth.
