Default i got a question?

i know i have a bad clutch master cylinder because the clutch rod on it is leaking fluid (its on my carpet and pedal!) but will this cause my car to be sluggish? like when i shift into 2nd, its like it takes a second to fully engage. ever since i bought the car, it had a bad master cylinder, would the additon of the act clutch cause it to get worse?

PS: anyone have a PERFECT way to bleed the clutch? ive seen like 5 different ways on here!

i hope its not a bad clutch its only been in there for about 8 months (5,000 miles)...it not really that it hesitates to engage, it gets going, but like it gets a extra little boost..its hard to explain.....but will this bad master cylinder cause my car to run bad?
heres a pic to help get more views!

your master cylendar leaking isnt going to cause the clutch to slip/hesitate, that's what the pressure plate is for. although, if it is slipping you may need a new clutch. but, the leaking master cylendar might make it hard for you to get into gear because it wont disengauge the clutch enough to easily go into the next gear. get what im saying???

you can check your clutch by driving along at 25 mph in 5th gear and flooring the pedal, if your RPMs rise and the vehicle speed doesn't, you got a clutch problem.

how i have been told to bleed a clutch is to simply open the valve on the slave cylinder and pump the clutch pedal a few times (fully-from floor to all the way out) and then leave the pedal all the way to the floor then close the valve on the slave then let out and repeat. i do it a couple of times. this takes two people to do. idk if its the best way but its worked for me...

if the clutch is leaking on the inside........you need to change the master cylinder and slave cylinder.....it's very common on eg's or hydraulic hondas. Have that replaced....if you don't wanna do it yourself, it's like 300 bucks or something at a regular honda shop. If it's leaking already, don't bother bleeding it. It'll just leak again, especially in hot weather. If you wanna just bring it to the shop fill up the resevoir(brake fluid) and pump till the pedal gets stiff again. Also, it'll eventually leak til there is no pressure at all to the clutch pedal(assed out). Also, sounds like you glazed your clutch, what kind of clutch is it? usually street/kevlar type clutches need to be broken it properly.........if not, your screwed! hth

I'm not really sure about your case since it was a stage 2, but about 9 months ago my clutch pedal got really easy to press, and i thought it was just a worn clutch so I kept driving for a few weeks. Turned out i had a bad master cylinder and it was leaking on my carpet just like yours but not on the pedal (or i might have discovered it). This also caused my clutch to wear down so i ended up having to get a clutch too. Maybe you won't have to. Good Luck
