Default i dont get ittttttttttttttttttttttt

senario- 93 civic si vs. 2004 lx coupe (both stock)

were going up a pretty good incline, hit the gas pretty much the same time in third and he (lx) pulls away

i know i know no e racing but this isnt e racing it actually happened, i just want to know why?

si has 125 hp stock 111 lbs feet right?

2004 lx has 115 i believe and 117 lbs feet (or so he says) non vtec! and its heavier!

we have this bridge in our town that is exactly 1/4 mile and i do 90 in it, he says he does 87.

whats going on here?

go ahead and call me a noob or w/e but then if you could follow up with a rational reason why he would pull away and shatter the pride i have in my car, that would be great

Maybe he was higher in his RPM range, meaning he had more usable power on tap. Also your car HAD that much hp/tq when it rolled off the assembly line. 11 years of internal wear doesn't leave motors running like brand new.

Um, guy, let me explain something to you. You bought a CIVIC. Not a racecar. Not a semi racecar. You bought an 11 year old econobox. If you want to go fast in a straight line you didn't make such a great decision. If you wanted a reliable car with excellent gas mileage then your in the right vehicle.

1g DSM. Under 3k they can be FAST. Not nearly as reliable as a Civic though. For 3k you cant be fast, and reliable. If you want to be a race car driver you either need to get into kart racing (I do it and its quite fun, plus it's much easier to work on one of those than a real car) or get some deeper pockets.
