Default 93 DX vs. 2000 SI please help

To start of the Si is STOCK with all options (ie heavy and most Alt lag possible)

the DX (my car) is a 93 base model no power anything not even steering. Only thing it's got is an AEM CAI intake. Tank on E and nothing in the cept my school bag.

in sightly down hill race to about 60 mph I was hanging right with him... (!) should he have DESTROYED my 102 hp *** with his 160 hp SI???

I figure he must have had everything on in his car ( know his stereo is on which is stock as well so no heavy equipment) a full tank of gas and maybe a lot of school crap. I was expecting a huge loss by like at least 2 car lengths? maybe he just can't drive for **** or messed up some how? my launch and shifts were pretty good as were his. I'll talk to him tomorrow about it when I see him in class but right now I'm really confused as to why I didn't get my *** beat.

SO what's going on here? Could I really hang with him like that or maybe is he just taunting me so next time he can really destroy me?

-Sketch (muy confused... yet happy)

few ways to tell it is an SI...
-rear disc brakes
-holes in the front head rest
-front and rear seats have different fabric from any other 96-00
-at night, guage cluster and climate contol will light up amber...etc
these should be a give-away, unless he swapped everything over

okay get this: he told me that the engine was not warmed up so the vtec wasn't working? is that true the vtec won't work for a few mins after start up? seems like a valid excuse and he promises that next time he will smoke me for sure, I look forward to it!

Any one from the bay area (cali) a member of sfrscca? I was thinking about joining and going up there on the weekends pretty soon...

Are you sure you 2 were racing? Or did you just think that you were racing him?

A stock SI shouldn't have any problem taking a DX unless you have some real work done to the engine (FI, nitrous, internals, etc.). Bolt-ons aren't gonna cut it.

guess he just can't drive for ****?? oh well it was fun anyway talk about an ego boost. I really need to get my *** beat now to get put back in my place... let's go find a rustang.

I should tell him that there might be something really wrong with his car. It doesn't look like it's burning oil or anything...

Hey may not be pushing it. A lot of people are afraid of the little red line. The b16 won't really come to life until after around 5500rpm.

it could be the driver...my cousin has a lightly modified crx..with the 1.6 non vtec motor...he has a few mods, port/polish head and cams...other junk...but its still a non vtec...he smokes SI's daily...and even GSRs...he's done it plenty of times at LACR...
