try balancing the tranny on a jack and sliding it on instead of just trying to physically hold it and slide it on...... is that what you're doing??

unless you've done a few clutches before....it's probably not alligned. I would get an allignment tool. OR.....loose up the pressure plate bolts enough for the disc to move, pop the tranny in then remove(this centers the disc), and then torque down the pressure plate, and you should be good. Make sure your dowel pins didn't get all janked

that is exactly the reason. you need to align the clutch/flywheel in order to fit the tranny back on.

no, i am using a motor hoist...so all i need to do is use an alignment tool and everything should go smooth after that?

I think since you didn't line your clutch up with the line up tool was a big mistake because since the shaft in your tranny acts just like a line up tool, If you didn't like the clutch up correctly then you wouldn't be able to get the shaft on the tranny into the motor, I dunno if thats correct but thats my thought

yes. Otherwise, the tranny shaft will slide into the clutch disc, but won't pop into the pilot bearing

the bearing is hard to get out without the flywheel off. You'll need a pilot bearing puller.

You don't need to lube the shaft....I've never had a problem with it. I lube the throw out bearing though

make sure you lock it onto the clutch fork correctly.

I lubed the inside of the bearing, the part that slides onto the shaft, Just used a little all purpose auto grease

it doesn't "lock in" persay....but it does slide over the shift fork, and you do have to play with it a little.

You use anti-seize on the throwout/release bearing???? um might want to stop that practice.

If you've ever seen anti-seize after its sat for a bit, it hardens and becomes a very thick gel. You want a high-temp urea grease on the splines and the release bearing. Anti-Seize is a NO NO.
