its impossible to keep the stock cat. its welded to the factory manifold. you'll have to get a d series header along with an ex cat and catback exhaust

I have a header on my HX right now and I have no cat. I am actually going back to stock header pretty soon here
Honestly uless you are going to go all the way with your HX....why get a header....waste of money. I only have a header because I threw away my stock exhaust manifold after I installed my turbo...but I am not turbo anymore. Bolt ons are the biggest waste of money on an HX in my opinion.
