Hump problem during auto to manual swap

Default Hump problem during auto to manual swap

i am almost done with my auto to manual swap but that little hump under my car where the a/t shifter use to be is in the way. i dont have a dremel so i tryd drilling thru the weld points and that didnt do anything. after, i tried hitting it with a hammer. still nothing..

what are some methods to get this thing off?pls reply

hump? what hump? there isn't a hump where the auto shifter was. can you post pics?

hes talking about the wind plate... i used a air gun with an air hammer... worked great

wind plate? i have a 93 dx that was once auto and i did a conversion. i don't remember a wind plate. and i don't remeber anything in the way either.

i know the manuals have a wind plate. but not the autos.

yeah... it hangs down right above the cat... doesnt hang much but it does enough so the shift linkage will not be able to fully go up to the hole

hmmm...weird, i never came across the problem with mine. my shifter bolted up fine, it was cake!

yea so was mine but it was a 94 coupe. the OP must have a 96-98 or 99-00

ahh...well that would make more sense, something the OP neglected to mention.
yeah, mine is a 93 hatch.

yea, you should have mentioned that you had a 00 civic. this whole time i was thinking 92-95 civic. which that hump is not there. damn, that sucks though.

dammit, and ther isnt a way to get it off without having to cut it? i was hoping be able to pry it off or something

I got mines off with a pry bar that has a blunt end so you can take a hammer to it. Was not doing so well at first but I gave it a good sharpening and It was much easier. Came off shortly after.

Its still there even on 92-95. It guides the auto cables to there correct location.

Theres 2 spot welds that are behind the "bracket" that attaches to the bottom front of it. Have to take it off then you could get the other 2 welds then hammer and your set.
