How to spot the diffference in a 96-98 distributor and a 99-00
how can i tell if a distributor is an obd2a or an obd2b distributor? http://www.hondaautomotiveparts has them listed as different stock numbers. any pointers?

it all depends , i know all of the 96+ integras are the same , but as far as sohc's go , the obd2a and obd2b , the difference is the plug

I believe its all the same. I know for sure the only thing different is the plugs for the ECU between OBD-2 A and B. I never heard of something like that before. I dont know why they have different part numbers but they both should be the same. Sorry I cant be much help.

umm basically the 96-98 obd2a civics use one large plug , the obd2b civic uses a smaller but still yet only one plug distributor , that plug is actually the same plug as the 92-95 obd 1 plug , the big side , but however all 96+ b series in del sols , si's , and integras use the one large plug whether it is obd2a or obd2b , sorry if i confused you , let me know if this doesnt make sense and i will try and explain it better

i have a d16y7 block (1997) with a d16y8 head (1999) i am having timing/ rich issues and i was wondering if maybe i used the wrong distributor... should i use my dx obd2a distributor or the ex obd2b distributor, i know they are the same between the ex and dx but im not sure between the obd2a and obd2b years

hmm now that i dont know , what ecu and injectors are you running , also what intake manifold; just curious

can anyone unplug their distributor wires and see if the inside of the harness coming off the distributor says either y1 or y3?? then state the year car you have?? pleeeeeease anyone?

ttt, someone check out the inside plug of their distributor to see if it says Y3 or y1
