How soft are my brakes supposed to be after I bleed them?
I just changed my brakes and I had to disconnect the brake line that feeds the brake fluid. In doing so, I ended up having to bleed my brakes. I did each side ten times and then held the pedal down and then bled it. (3x on each rear side).
The pedal is really soft still yet and it doesn't feel like how it once was. My uncle kept saying that's how it is and will get better after I drive around. I went and drove around for five minutes and it was still pretty soft.
How many times should I pump and then hold and then bleed the brakes for on each side?

The stopping time does feel a little off, not as fast or quick as it was prior to changing my brakes. I'm going to re-bleed it tomorrow, my gf is going to push the pedal in lol. It isn't as hard as I thought it was.

Its not, We do it all the time at the shop. Have her pump them about 10 times or whatever, then hold it to the floor. You loosen the bleeder valve until no air, or clean fluid comes through. Make sure she follows the pedal to the floor while you bleed it. Also make sure your cylinder is full.

Ok thanks. Someone mentioned in another thread to use a water bottle with a hose connected to the bleeder screw and to let the brake fluid go into the water bottle. In doing so the air wouldn't get sucked back in since the hose would be submerged in the brake fluid in the water bottle.
Does that make any sense?

Re: (Noct)
just keep bleeding them until it gets hard, long process but eventually you will get the right pedal feel. Stailess steel brakes hoses give awesome pedal feel if you are interested.
