How much for compression and leakdown test?
Hey guys, I'm going to be buying a car pretty soon. The car has 66xxx miles on it and i'm planning on boosting it at 6PSI daily. So before I purchase the car I would like to check if the engine is in great shape. So can someone give me a price range so I can see if this test is necasery?

Close, Autozone rents the tools for free (with a deposit) and you do it yourself.

How much would it cost for a local dealership to do it? If its around 50-100. Then I think its worth the investment. I'll just call tomorrow since i'm in a jam and need to get back to the seller asap.

WHAT THE ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DONT GO TO THE DEALER IF THEYLL CHARGE YOU 100 BUCKS!!!!!!!!
Listen very carefully. Go to Sears and buy there compression testor for 30 bucks. Hell if you want cheaper go to autozone and buy theres for 20, and Harbor Frieght (if you have one) is even cheaper. And do the **** yourself. Same with the leakdown test.
