Hey guys I was just look at a fwe pics of D series engines and notice that a few of them were running wiht out the cover over the camshaft gear. Leaving the timing belt out in the open.


I was just wondering how many of you do this, I was thinking about it, I can't really see it really be that bad of a thing. ???

i have a firend thast doeso n his b. its gay and stupid. think about it. timing + rock or stick or ***** or whatever will fit in there. theres a cover for a REASON.

yes timing belt cover same thing.


Well obviously their is a cover there to stop anythign form gettin up there, but really.. what the hell is gonna make it up there that would do any harm

myy bad dayum. who the hell throws a rod on a stock motor with low mileage ? me. Im just tryna save him some headache. spiteful.

lol no its not

cam cover = metal thing that covers valves and cam(S)
timing belt cover = plastic pos that keeps rocks and dirt out of timing belt area

and i would NOT run without one, i saw a bolt kick into the belt cover and put a NASTY groove in a timing belt, very close to breaking.

if the belt breaks, so does the motor

im not running one because i cant find a y8 one at any junkyards. but as soon as i find one ill run it.
