Is there any oil line/residue marked on your dipstick when you remove it? Remember new oil is yellow and can sometimes be hard to distinguish on the dipstick if you dont look at it closely.

remember wen you do the oil change pour the oil in and turn your car on, let idle for half a minute, check dipstick again then adjust and try to fill it but dont overdue it cause that causes problems too

True, but the second dot is "1 qt low" - so it's not like you're really lacking in oil or anything.
In the upper 75% of the range of the two dots to the top dot is fine.

It's usually around 4 1/4 for me as well.
