Carpet
Sound deadening
consoles
dash
seats
interior trim/plastics
Change glass windows over to lexan (but lose legality at the same time)

And you will want to keep those bumper supports

aftermarket suspension parts. (LCAs, suspension kits etc) smaller/lighter rims. CF hood/trunk.

But what would you be doing with a delsol that you need to lose that much weight?

A really basic, BASIC estimate is 100lbs = 1/10th of a second.

It depends....

I can't believe people actually answer this..

Is it a street car? Do you drive it every day? Or is it a strict track car?

Bumper supports aren't neccessary for strict track cars - not a lot is, they are, I think 11lbs a piece...but I sure as expletive wouldn't take them out of I drove the thing on the street.

take those heavy *** brakes and rotors off. you dont really need those.

That and dont have that much gas in your tank if youre going to the drag strip. You'll save a lot in gas weight.

The weight in a Sol is tied up in the door bracing and top bracing.

If you're serious about racing, you need a strip, a cage, and a better motor. Google "DarkSol motorsports" you'll find one of the most successful Sol weight reductions.

Something of the sort, yes. My friend's IS300 didn't have the bumper support (either that or part of the rad support was missing) and the "carpet got stuck in the pedals" and he hit one of those cement 6" diameter polls, it pushed all the way back to behind the front wheels in a dead center hit. Think it goes w/o saying that the car was totalled...

Oh yeah...it was like 15mph.

Moral of the story:
Don't take that **** out unless you have a strict track car.

My one friend had an old I think 92 Hatch...not sure but he gutted it completely, bumper supports, took out the shocks AND springs to have it crushed to the ground (litteraly) I can't believe he didn't kill himself in it. He did however sell it to some kid and that kid wrecked it, didn't die, but car of course was gone. Only thing in the car was the steering wheel, shifter itself and the drivers seat only. Friggin crazy, I was scared to death the ONLY couple of times I rode in it.

every1 is telling you the truth, if its a street car dont be gay and do basics, leave everything with cf pieces. If your thick headed or this IS a trak/drag car listen to Miracle.

Don't remove the bumper supports thats the only thing that helped my car stay together, well sorta. And keep the brakes they're excellent they don't ever hot to the point where they sink to the floor no matter how hard you drive it. Just use cf pieces and gut the interior. If yoiu really want to just remove the complete abs system incuding everything under the hood and the stuff in the trunk. it will still brake great with the big rotors. All this is from experience so take into consideration. Good luck!
