Default How to Install 99-00 SI Spoiler on 98 civic.

i saw the writeup on how to do it to a 5th generation civic, and i dont htink that it is the same for the 98. Is there a write up on doing it on the 6th gen.?

i haven't seen the write up, but I'd imagine it'd be roughly the same. Just line up the spoiler, drill the holes, and run the wiring for the third brake light through the spoiler.

i'm pretty sure the holes are outlined on the under side of the trunk. drill the four holes, wire it up to your third brake light, and you should be set

i looked to at the bottom of the trunk, and there are no outlines of where the drill holes go? anyone have pics of the underside of their 99 trunk to show where to drill the holes?

there are outlines by the edges of the trunk. There should be a curved in edge on each side of the trunk with two little bumps for u to drill teh holes. i drilled these holes for mine and they lined up pretty well. However, the third brake light will need some kind of restricter becuz it runs on a different voltage, you'll end out blowing up fuses if u just tap into the brake lights.

Exactly, it can't be much more than this.

yea..i drilled them..but drilling them was a b*tch cuz the drill kept slippin...but in the end its worth it...i still don't have the tail lights up yet...blew like 10 fuses..i tried a bigger fuse but blew that too..i remembered reading that it runs on 9 v instead of 12.

my car came with the lower spoiler, so i got lucky and the holes were already there and already properly wired up. i just cut and rewired, and mounted up the Si spoiler in the old one's space..
