Default How hard is it to install....

How hard is it to install a short shifter into a 97 Del Sol Si??

Depends if you have a lift/tools/knowledge. I think it would be kinda hard if you didnt have the tools.

Easy, you're going to need a 10mm socket a ratchet and a phillips screwdriver. Remove center console, pop the two links off on the bottom, remove shifter, insert new one(make sure its greased) put links back on, put console back in.

Not very complicated at all, and if i left some steps out, sue me.

not to hard i did mine in my driveway in about 30 mins

its kinda pointless to put install a shortshifter on a sol. the sol's shifter is already short.

And unless its a top of the line shifter it is more than likely to give you tranny problems. Some also bend and i have heard of them breaking.

its not going to give you tranny problems unless you think your speed racer. its easy to do, have one in my 93 si.
