How do u test a fan control switch?
I have a 95 Civic LX w/ heating issues. Going thru the flowchart in the manual, it tells me to test continuity btwn terminals on my fan switch. Am I supposed to test btwn 3 terminals? If so...how?
Thanks

easiest test is to short out the connector for the fan switch in the thermostat housing by using a paper clip or some sort of jumper, if the the fan comes on, circuit is good, and you may have to replace the sensor, if it does not come on after you see the gauge rising past 3/4

Re: How do u test a fan control switch?
1) Hot air leaks into cabin when car gets to normal operating temp. Can't get it to stop.
2) Fan/Heater Switch: Off = no air, no sound; 1-4 = no air but sounds like a blower is blowing, no change in sound which I assume is fan/blower speed from 1-4.
3) Temp control lever/slider doesn't change temp.
4) AC doesn't work.
To me, it sounds like multiple problems.
#1 & #3 = vent/blend/air mix doors w/ possibly linkage/cable issues. I really don't know how they are supposed to look or how linkages look. Does anyone have pictures (not drawings)?
#2 = fan switch?, etc.
#4 = don't know yet
I'm just working my way thru the system. Unless someone has a better way...
