It doesn't really matter what Honda says your redline is. Do a full gear pull and wait until the power falls off or you hit the fuel cutoff. If your tach has a shift light then set it a few hundred rpm early to account for your reaction time after the light activates. Just go out and play with the thing and figure out where to shift.

(piggybacking atx ) Just rev your first gear all the way till it hits the fuel cut off and set the light a few hundred rpm before it. Once you know where about where your redline hits, try to feel where your car is just revving hard, but really not pushing out as much power per rev. When you feel that, you might wanna set your light there. It's will be yur optimum shift point more or less. I installed a tch in my cx, the car is slow, but knowing my best shift points, I've pulled away on my buddies ex through a couple of gears. still lose though.
