How do I replace the headlight on a 97 Ex Coupe?
I've searched all over, but I can only find pages on how to replace the bulb itself, not the actual headlight. I have a new drivers side assembly I want to put in to replace my old, hazed light. But when opening the hood the light screws continue to evade the obvious, I can't figure it out!
I'm hoping I don't have to remove the front bumper or anything ridiculous like that!
Thanks in advance guys,
[DarkTune]EJ8-Squad#340

You can replace the blinker bulb by simply jacking the car up, maybe removing the tire (makes it a little easier IMO) and taking out the screw that keeps the front bumper and wheel well guard togather. Once you do that, you can get access to the blinker bulb. No front bumper has to come off. You just have to pull the well guard aside.

There is a screw on the inner side of the light, you have to reach under the bumper to get to it, and there is a screw behind the fender, you have to remove the fender, and thereby the side skirts, to remove the headlight.

^Remove the fender????? WTF!? No.......
Just pull your bumper off... You will see all 4 bolts securing the headlight.
Removing the bumper is far from ridiculous...you can get it off in under 2 minutes! Pop all the upper tabs, two 10mm bolts underneath, one screw on each fenderwell
Done

Mine was bolted where I circled in the pic....I dont know why it would only be like that on my car. Probably another hack job from the previous owner
but +1 on the bumper, its a breeze to pull it off.

Okay, first remove the front bumper.
You'll have to pop the hood and then remove the following (see photo for locations).
- Phillips tip screw at the top corners of the bumper in the fender wells.
- Pry the seven clips along the trop of the bumper and grille out using a flathead screw driver.
- There will be two bolts on the middle underside of the bumper. These might be hard to locate at first. I've seen them as 10mm bolts and 14mm bolts, so it could be either.
- There might be a Phillips tip screw on one or both sides of the bottom front corners of the bumper.
Now to remove the headlight.
Removing the piece under the headlights might help you take the headlight off the car.
Then there will be four bolts holding the headlight on. Two on the top, one on the outside corner and one on the inside corner.
Don't forget to unplug the bulb harnesses from the back. The headlight one will just unplug with a pinch, but the turn signal will need a half twist for removal.
