how do i install a fan switch?
hi i was wondering how to install a fan switch because i connected the postive wire to the battery and to the switch. then i grounded the negitive to the frame of the car, it powers the fan but it wont turn off . what should i do? and i have a civic radiator with a DA fan

Personally I'd wire your fan up with a relay due to cooling fans drawing some amperage(depending on the age)..
I'm not sure what you may have hooked where,but definitely get this rewired.
Heres a schematic to help you.
A basic automotive relay will suffice for what your doing.
The "switched" power is where you would wire in the toggle switch.
Battery voltage to the switch(via center pole)
and the feed wire to the relay one one of the side prongs.
The #5 on the 1st image would go to the power wire to the cooling fan and then ground the cooling fan negative to chassis ground.
