How do i hook up my Auto-Meter shift light???
I just got a shift light from a friend, the pic is below. I just need to know where the wires go.
It has 3 wires coming out, a red, a black, and a green one. I am thinking the red is power and black is ground and the green is what??? and where does it go???
And i have no tach in my car, so dont flame
Thanks for the help in advance

first of all, I have never installed a shift light.
since we have hot and ground, what else is missing that would make this work? check out a wiring diagram and splice it into the tach signal on the gauge cluster harness.

the green is the signal wire, it goes to the blue wire in your engine bay(it is the tach wire) you install little yellow pills into the shiftlight to control your shifting point. it doesn' t automatically know when to shift, the pill is what connects the circuit.

the clusters are plug and play, so there has to be a wire in the cluster harness. I have a '93 cx and installed an ex cluster and had to do no wiring. why go to the engine bay if you don't have to?
