how do I get off my e-brake handle
I've recently picked a shifter and e-brake handle set. I haven't been able to remove the plastic e-brake handle cover. I haven't tried heat yet, I figured someone on here might know.
Any help is appreciated.

I read all these trick ways to remove mine. Some said use a towel and vise grips. In the end I just used a razor blade and split it down the middle, came off in like a minute.

Your not supposed to cut it off. You can if your weak and you cant PULL it off. Just push and pull on the brake handle until it comes off, easy as that

Re: (BoOstedEM1)
the best way to do it is a towel and vice grips, but you have to blow dry it first, heat it up, honda used glue to hold it on, so melt the glue then pull it right off

see here we go with the towels, blowdryers vise grips and pip wrenches.... you guys go ahead and do that, I will cut mine off and drink a six pack in the time it takes you to muscle it off.

Re: how do I get off my e-brake handle (gray92hatch)
I had a '97 EJ8, so I don't know if the same process will apply for an EG. (What you have, right?) I initially tried yanking it off to no avail and then tried cutting it off, which helped slightly but not entirely. I ended up hammering it off.
1) Get two hammers. One rubber to reduce the noise, the other a regular ol' hammer.
2) Separate the cover from the e-brake handle.
3) Place the forked "prong" end of the regular hammer against the base of the handle (where the shift boot connected to it).
4) Take your rubber handle and start whacking at the regular hammer, hitting and applying force towards the front of the car.
Mine came off in less than 30 seconds this way. Wish I had done it before I spent an hour trying to yank and cut off the e-brake handle.
