brake drum shoe install, can't remove snap ring
Car is a 97 Honda Civic. Doing a brake shoe install for the 1st time.
I took a couple pics of the drum assembly so I don't forget how it looks. Anyway, I'm stuck right now. I can't seem to remove the snap ring off the shoe that is closest to the rear bumper. Here's a picture:
Anyone have any idea how you're supposed to remove this? Or if there's a tool to do this? It doesn't have holes for snap ring pliers, and I've tried using a flathead and regular pliers, but no go. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: (superacecardriver)
Reading the whole post would be good. As you can see, I have a pair of snap ring pliers in the picture. These rings don't have the holes in them. Anyway, I got it off by putting it on a vice with a flathead and hammer
