Default how can you tell if a ecu is manual or auto

is it on the code? also can i use a p06 with a d16?

You know it would help out people trying to answer your question if you posted which diagnostic generation ecu you are talking about. Due to you lack of information here's the difference on obd-1 ecu:



BTW this information could have been found easily with a search as I know I personally have answered the same question several times.

yeah i had to figure out if my p28 ecu was automatic. i think on the #'s on thew side. the 5 means its automatic. but instead of buying a new ecu. i just found out how to convert it. (i lost the website that told me how to) but its real easy. u take out three little resistors and jump one of them.. im me you need any help i can get my ecu if youd like.... good luck

yeah it is a odb1, i had no idea they made a p06 in a odb2

Yoiu didn't specify the ecu in question was a p06 asshat.
