Default How can you tell the difference between a AUTO y8 mani and a y8 STD mani?

Im buying a y8 mani and i was wondering how you can tell if its off of a automatic or a standard. Also does it make a difference which kind it is, it will still work on my y8 head swap right, or is one better than the other? I dont mean to sound dumb im just didnt know if there was a differnce, im sure there probably isnt besides a sensor or something. Well any info will help, thanks.

The Y8 manual manifold has the mount for the IACV and hte AUTO does not, they are filled.

Well can it be tapped out to make the sensor fit on the mani? or do i have to mount it on the intake? Is it worth the time if i can get it cheap or just look for a standard one? thanks guys

um no. Cause the IACV is like awkward looking and sure as hell wouldnt fit on an intake. It wouldnt even function like it would on an Intake Manifold. And you cant just tap out to make a sensor fit.

Well if a auto y8 mani has the spot where the IACV sensor goes but it just flat with no holes, cant i just make the hole, and thread some screw holes and mount it? It would be in the same spot so it should work the same right? Anyways maybe im dumb but i thought that might work.

Manual with y7 TB with the IACV

Best pic I have of an auto y8, this is 99-00 with air injection, thus the extra nipples

the IACV is hidden in that pic, but here is what it is... in the same position, mounted on the TB like all y7 IMs and all auto y8 IMs

another bad pic, but that's it with the coolant lines attached
