How can i tell if the ecu im buying is chipped?

If there is a 28 pin chip/soket soldered into that white rectangle area then somebody has been fooling around with the ECU - it's really that simple. as soon as you jumper J1 (purple) then your no longer using the stock maps and your engine is controlled by the 'chip' i the white area..

yup, if there is no chip or socket then it has never been touched... you see a bunch of points filled in with solder if it is stock.
