how can I remove the antenna cabling so I can install my flush antenna piece over where the antenna
I searched and found this: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1975167
But does anybody know how to do this on a 97 civic ex coupe or have any pics? I already looked around and traced the black cabling, but I can't find the area where the lead goes from the outside cable then back to the radio so I can unscrew that part of the antenna cabling and pull it out... Help?

Re: how can I remove the antenna cabling so I can install my flush antenna piece over where the ante
Here's what I did. Removed the two top screws that are holding on the antenna plastic plate. Pulled the whole thing out about 2-3 inches so I could see a little better.
There was a metal strap that connected to one of the holes that one of the two screws go into and I popped that off with needle-nose pliers. Then I could pull the antenna and cabling off of the plastic antenna plate and I just tucked it all back in.
Used the Honda Genuine Black Plastic block plate I got from JHPUSA.com and screwed it in. Looks awesome and I can still use the radio if I want, or if I sell the car and the person wants it back how it was (OEM).

The pictures I posted in that thread would work the same for a '96-'98 coupe. The only difference is the wire going to the rear from the antenna is for the '99-'00 sedans and the radio on the '96-'98s would have a cabel that goes to the slave mounted above the cupholders, which this cable has nothing to do with your antenna.

Same part for a 5th gen. They're commonly sold online.
