i'm having issues with my hood being close all the way. it will lock, but it doesn't sit flush. not sure if the hood latch is broken or worn out. i have searched and was wondering anyone dealt with this issue before? also, if i was to change the latch do i need to change the entire thing or just the latch itself? thanks.

there are rubber plugs that you screw in to adjust the height of the hood once it is all the way down and closed. They are on right by the fenders.

Check you latch mech make sure the cable is not binding up that will keep the latch from closing all the way

by any chance you can tell me where those rubber plugs are located?

i also have no signal in the dash notifying that my hood is open even when it is open.

There is no signal. We don't drive luxury cars

The black rubber screws are easy to find. There's one on each side of the core support near the fenders. They're a big black rubber stopper.

is the rubber screws located right on top of the headlight? if so i see it, but how do i adjust it?

Turn right until you can't turn anymore .... just like any screw or bolt.

Just the latch. It's about $40-50 brand new for the entire assembly.

try pulling out the latch again from inside the car. see if its not twisted or bent up. happened to me the first day i had my civic. the **** twisted and it wouldnt close right.

I have an ek so it might not be the same in your eg but heres how to adjust the hood height on an ek. There are 4 bolts holding your hood latch assembly to your radiator support. Just unbolt them, but not all the way, just until it moves around freely. The holes for the bolts are elongated so you can move it up or down, in your case down.

i had to do this with my eh with my cf hood. for 92-95's theres three bolts. you'd have to remove the bumper to get the to the third bottom left bolt, unless u have a racheting wrench. once they are loose adjust the whole latch assembly.

i noticed that my latch will lock on to the hook of the hood, but the other locks on the latch doesn't trigger(move) to make the hood stay down.

I had a problem like this myself. I believe your saying that the hood catches, but doesn't want to lock down all the way. I agree with the above statements with replacing the assembly. You can try pushing the cable back with a flathead screwdriver to see if the hood will latch down. If you're looking down at the latch you'll see where the cable catches and try to move that back with the screw driver. I didn't that for a quick fix before i got the cable/latch all fixed. Hope that helps ya out

if your hood does not completely latch on you need to unbolt the bolts that i was talking bout and move the latch up.

do you know of any sites to order them off of. my trunk is missing one

you can adjust the hood latch as well.

there are 3 10 mm bolts that hold it on, loosen them and push the latch down a bit see if that helps.

it took me 3 hours to get my hood to close correctly, trial and error

yeah i tried that, but i think i found the problem. previous owner used electrical tape and taped over exposed wires which appears to be stretch. now i have to change the entire thing
