honda guru's please help
i have a 2000 civic si with a aem short ram intake,dc 4-1 header, and exhaust, I bought it with these items and often find the engine to sputter at low rpm's and idle back and forth rapidly between 1100 and 1400 rpm, and then when i am driving really slow(down driveway) it jolts around. i changed the cap and rotor and used some injector cleaner, but no good. does someone know what i can do?

is the check enigne light on?
Did you reconnect the O2 sensors?
when you installed the intake did you put back the PCV hoses?
Vac Leak?

Re: (Turbocoupe97)
on 99-00 si's theres theres a vacum port on the back of the Intake manifold that leads to cruise control i think. they are known to leak and cause a flucuation idle id check that out first. also check the iacv and clean it out.

clean out your throttle body.
you could have a dirty sensor.
if that doesnt work... spray carb cleaner around the vacuum hoses, and intake manifold, if your engine starts to choke or any diffrence at all where you sprayed, your getting a vaccum leak form there..

Does it only do this in low rpm, like the engine can't decide where to keep it's idle so it;s going back and forth eh ?
There are a few different reasons it might do this but most common that i've seen i would say would be a vacuum leek, bad IACV, or bad TPS.
*IACV = idle air control valve.
*TPS = throttle position sensor.
But if you say you got no codes, or no check engine light most likely it would be a vacuum, id say.

reset your ECU. i know on the 92-95s and integra's ive added parts like exhaust, intake, header, and if u don;t reset the ECU then it runs kindove bad in the lower RPM's my teg would even sometimes stall because of a faulty o2 senor reading.
warm the car up, reset ECU, and allow the car to re adjust its self.
