Default honda del sol timing belt issues

Got a 1995 del sol d16z6 and i just rebuilt it and installed it and ive had trouble puttin on the timing belt, i get all the notches matched up and when i put the belt on and roatate the pulley 3 times and rematch it up it will be off about a tooth in a half, so then i tried to set it back a tooth before i put the belt on and rotated it 3 times and the tooth wont move at all when i do it liek this....hope this isnt too confusing lol any answers

Align all the pulley marks with #1 cyl at TDC on the firing stroke.

To get them to re-align after turning the crank, you must go 4 full turns.

so you are saying if i line everything up and when i put on the timing belt and turn it 4 full times than everything will be aligned.....Cuz soon as i put the belt on the bottom pully i guess u would call it that has a notch and arrow will be a tooth off when i get the belt on but its lined up until i put on the belt i guess its moving a tooth when i get the belt on.....so if i put on the belt and its off a tooth after i put it on and turn the crank 4 times than it will be matched up ???

theres too much slack in your belt and that is why it seems to keep jumping teeth. heres a little hint. the side that doesnt have the tensioner on it needs to be at its tightest. use the crank to back it by one tooth and then holding the belt on the cam and crank tighten up the belt. when your looking at it all your lines should line up and the all your slack should be on the same side as the tensioner then just make sure that you keep holding it untill you get the tensioner set and then spin it again and your marks should still be lined up after that. good luck
