What he said. You will need to remove all of the OEM intake piping and filter box.
And by the way, I dont think HTML works here.

Re: honda civic filter (SER_KILLER)
I might sound like a dick but:
Why do you want to put an intake in a single cam - 4 door -automatic ?
AEM has it for your car !!

Check ebay for dx civic and you'll see lots of y7 intakes, just most don't have the mounting bracket like the AEM.

Is this really something you want to do? You're not even going to notice it. Besides, I wouldn't spend less than $70 for a new intake. When you go that cheap for something that retails name brand for $200 you're looking at getting stiffed, cheap parts, poor quality, and less performance.
I know you're new here and I try to break people in nicely. If you spend $1500 on all the intake, header, intake mani, and catback exhaust, any $800 turbo'd civic will leave you in the dust. It's your money and your car, spend it however you want. I just recommend getting power per dollar. Not Fast and the furious.
No one get's performance out of a Honda with an Automatic. What are you looking for? cool engine sound? Show? Bass? Speed? sleeper? Tell us what you're trying to do. That way we can better help to analyze what you want, save you trouble, time, and money. Cheers.

there isnt really a big performance gain with an intake besides sound.
i can't say if ebay intakes are good or not since i dont have one but its probably not that off from a aem intake.
its your money, and if you feel that its worth $200 then get the aem if not, get the cheap ebay one.
