having an issue with my trans if anyone could help shifting from 2nd to 3rd only when over 4000rpm it grinds does anyone know t

Sounds like a manual transmission, you didn't specify.
Diagnosis is relatively easy. Old worn transmission, synchros are too worn for "performance" shifting.
Fix: Rebuild transmission.
