you can get it welded but it will cost you like $50 or more. 5spd swap?

make sure that you don't run low on fluid because your tranny will be toast.

You're best bet is to have an actuall plate welded on like B2FiNiTY said. And still then that won't hold it forever.

When I tore the bottom out of my sunfire's transmission (hitting same thing you did) I just got a new plate bolted on. I got real lucky and there was minimal damage to the top part of the case. I don't know how civic auto tranny's work, but just thought I'd share.

oncde again I don't know how honda auto tranny's are put together but my sunfire had like the following. Imagine an upside down tupperware bowl. That's what houses the transmission. Then it had a gasket, followed by a new plate, which is the lid.

A picture is worth 1000 words.

edit: (forgot to add this in picture). Above that lip, the tranny was virtually untouched. Had it been half an inch higher, the tranny would have been ripped from my car. Don't know how it was in your situation. I lost all my tranny fluid in about 5 minutes after the accident.

Go and find out what you hit, and who owns it. If it was in traffic lanes, the owner is generally liable for repairs.

but until you see the money take a lot of pics and buy new pan
