Which hitch should I use?
Guys, I've been looking around on the site, and trying to find the best solution for a hitch for my 97 hatch. I've found two that I'm considering (see below). I'm currently trying to thin out some bills and expenses, which led to me selling my truck, and I'm in no hurry to replace it.
I'm basically looking for a way to haul a small utility trailer, use a basket to carry bulky/smelly (gas cans, coolers, garbage) items, and use to haul my bike.
If you just want to come in here telling me how I can't pull with my civic, save your keystrokes - I'm not interested in hearing it. I know it has/is/will be done, and there's no reason I shouldn't.
Here are the hitches I'm looking at:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2RA9SXXTGVE9R
^^^^^ Looks like the easiest install, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up Also is less invasive/fewer holes to drill.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
^^^^^ Very invasive/extensive drilling required, and I really don't like the idea of the spare tire well taking all that flex.
I've pretty much made up my mind on the Hidden Hitch, but was just trying to see what others' inputs/experiences might be. Have any of you had the CURT hitch? How has it worked for you?
My only other concern is having to cut the fascia/lip when I install the hitch. I plan to add a lip of some sort to the car, but I'm just trying to see which would work best - If you have a hitch AND a lip, feel free to tell me how well it has worked.
Last request: Pictures of your installs!
TIA,
-Michael
