Highway Hesitation
I've posted this a few times when the problem was random, but now it has progressed to be an every day thing. Whenever I am on the highway idling at about 75-80mph (just under 4k RPMs in 5th) for about 5-10 minutes and I go to 0% throttle something happens. Almost immediately I notice the car begin to feel bogged down, so it forces me to increase throttle to keep the same speed. Unfortunately if I increase the throttle the car feels like its chugging almost. If I leave the throttle at a fixed position the car chugs for 30 seconds to a minute then it feels like everything frees up. The next time I go off the throttle it happens again. If I never let off the throttle though it doesn't happen. Any ideas?
Specs:
94 VX Hatch
JDM D15B with p08 ecu and tranny
AEM short ram
Carsound 2.33" cat (obd1 so no cat o2)
Invidia N1 exhaust
I am aware I am running a JDM ecu with a USDM 02 sensor though so that could be the cause of the problem. The hesitation issue does not cause a CEL. Could it be bad wires or plugs? I am going to change the plugs out regardless, but do you think wires could be the cause? Also it really started once it began to get warmer here in NC.
Thanks

Re: Highway Hesitation (CFactor)
also the car randomly idles 3 different ways: like the IACV is beginning to go bad (raising and lowering in a 300rpm rangefor about 20 seconds), normal at 750, and then at like 500-550.

Re: (CFactor)
I had that problem and it turned out to be the igniter. I know you said you replaced the dizzy with the swap, but igniters are a bitch. I've replaced several, maybe give it a shot?

Re: (CFactor)
Apparently you have to buy an entire distributor to get an igniter, which sucks. But I had quite a few sitting around and I used a more 'fresh' one and the problem ceased to persist. If you've got some buddies willing to part with one, hit 'em up or at least try one for a test run.
Hope it works out.
