High Rpm? Just swapped b18b1.
I have a 96' civic hatchback CX with a b18b1 swap in it, with LS hydro trans. I've been driving with it with no CEL's for about a week now, and I feel like the rpm's are a little high when driving. For example, on the freeway when I'm going 70 mph, it hovers around 3k rpm. Kinda seems a little high for a 5-speed, considering my 4-speed automatic acura was around 3k rpm at 80 mph. Anybody have any input? Is my timing off maybe? Or is 3k rpms at 70 mph normal for an LS tranny? Thank you.

No, that sounds about right! The LS transmission has a taller 5th gear (0.742) while my GSR trans has a slightly shorter 5th (0.787) and at 70, I'm at about 3,500-3,600Rpms

Toss your numbers in there, it'll graph it out for you and tell you what's normal.

Your tire size. That's the only number in the link I posted that can't be auto-filled.
On a stock tire size, yes, 3k RPM is completely normal for an LS transmission. You think that's bad, join my boat - CTR transmission. Shortest gears known to the B series engine. I'll be in the 3800 range at 70.

Yeah I'm running stock tires, 175/70/13 I think. Well ****, I guess it's really no biggy then. Tbh the power difference from my d series isn't really blowing me away, but i guess that's why there's forced induction.

You can't feel the difference between the 70 BHP D15B8 that came stock in the CX, and the 142 BHP stock from a B18B1? I have a feeling that your new motor might need an overhaul, or at least a good tune-up.
Boosting a D15B8 is an exercise in futility, self-loathing, and hatred.
