help tire rub on my 92 civic lx
hi i just recently bought a 92 civic lx, the guy i bought it from had put some 18in urban racing rims with low profile tires on it. now it seems like every time i turn a tire seems to rub some where in the wheel well. example: if im crusin down the street and take a right hand turn, the cars weight sifts to the front left tire causing it to rub. it also some times happens if i hit a bump the car bounces and sometimes causes a rear tire to rub. now ive talked to a couple friends and they have told me that i could just get smaller rims, raise the car by like 2-3 inches, stiffen the shocks inn some way. your advice can help. thanks

is the car lowered? and what tire size on the rims?
but typicaly 18s always rub they are way to big for a civic!!!!!
17s TOPS 15-16s recomended for keeping some ride quality. anything over 16s and you dont have enough tires sidewall flex.

you cant "stiffen the shocks", they are not adjustable. in order to raise the car youd have to buy a set of custom shocks and springs (good luck even finding any) and they'll cost you WAY more money than to just buy a smaller set of wheels and tires.
get rid of those huge 18's and get some 15s or 16s... shouldnt cost you hardly anything since it sounds like you got freakin dubs on that thing, so you could sell them for a price not much lower than a set of rotas or something.
